Transfer analysis - The Swiss Super League case

Dear Club Representatives,
Please find here an interesting analysis provided by the Swiss media Watson about the Swiss Super League's export-quota to the top 5 Leagues. As a medium-size league, the Swiss Super League, which is called locally the "training league", exports directly more than 22% of its foreign transfers to one of the top 5 leagues. In comparison with the other medium-size football leagues in Europe, this is the highest proportion in percentage, followed by the Dutch Eredivisie, Liga Portugal and Belgian Pro League:

Once again, the Swiss case highlights the importance of youth development for small and medium-size leagues to enhance domestic competitiveness and, in some way, increase clubs' revenues by promoting young talents and selling them to the top football clubs in Europe.
An important source of income to leverage and provide more resources to youth football in small and medium-size leagues is UEFA solidarity payments. Solidarity payments are distributed through national associations to professional clubs to invest in their youth development programmes and local community projects.
