FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: players released by European Leagues' members

Dear Club Representatives,

As FIFA World Cup 2022 in underway in Qatar, we carried out an analysis of the players competing in the tournament. Overall, out of the 831 players registered to the World Cup, 581 of them come from one of the 40 European Leagues' members.

English Premier League, LaLiga and the Deutsche Fussball Liga are at the front line, while the English Football League (EFL) is the biggest lower tier league, with 30 players released for the World Cup.

The three clubs with the highest number of players competing in the tournament are: FC Barcelona (17), Manchester City (16) and FC Bayern Munich (15).
