Statement (FSE):

Over the next two days, the EU Court of Justice is hosting a series of hearings about the so-called ‘European Super League’.

As we have repeatedly stated, the super league presents an existential threat to European men’s and women’s football, from the grassroots to the professional game.

The project is a billionaire’s blueprint. It is anti-competitive by design, and if realised, would obliterate the key principles upon which the European model of sport is based, including sporting merit, promotion and relegation, qualification to Europe via domestic success, and financial solidarity.

We know that the overwhelming majority of fans oppose the super league, so we’re asking as many of them as possible to make their voices heard by signing the ‘Win It On The Pitch’ European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), which calls on the EU Commission to protect the integrity of European football.

No. More. Super. Leagues.
